Pranayoga combines Hatha Yoga and Pranayama in series of well balanced postures and yogic breathing exercises. It stems from 2 main schools of yoga one in France and one in the US.
The first main pillar of Pranayoga is the Ruchpaul Method created by Eva Ruchpaul (Paris, France). in the early 70s. Eva Ruchpaul is a famous European yogini and author who knows how to age well in her 90s. Full of dynamism, inner joy and intelligence, she has been a constant source of inspiration since I started (and never stopped) practicing yoga more than 40 years ago. Renowned in Europe, the Eva Ruchpaul Method is extremely precise and well balanced, and we are more than a 1000 certified Ruchpaul Yoga Teachers in different countries, although mainly in France and Greece. It integrates different forms of breathing techniques within and in between each asana and this method constitutes one of the essential foundations of Pranayoga.
The second pillar of Pranayoga is Brett Larkin’s Uplifted Yoga, which stimulates creativity and freedom whilst embedded in a deep knowledge of different Yogic traditions. This school of yoga under the leadership of Brett Larkin has opened the difficult path between the traditional and the contemporary ways yoga is practiced and taught in the US.
Drawing upon these two schools, Pranayoga combines Breathwork, Asanas and Meditation in a manner that respects your possibilities and acknowledges your needs, here and now.
